My name’s Euan Atkinson, I’ve recently turned 16 and am currently studying GCSE music at school.

At the moment, I’m exploring the many forms of electronic music production and most of my recent projects have been released under the ‘soundtrack’ genre. I’m looking towards taking a university course in music technology given the opportunity and would ideally like to pursue a career doing soundtrack compositions or just about anything in the music industry.

With EZ keys it’s clear that Toontrack have aimed to simplify the songwriting process itself. Constructing chord progressions, verses, choruses, even creating entire songs can be achieved in a matter of seconds.

The Slim Phatty contains the same sound engine as it's older brother, the Little Phatty, but at a few hundred pound cheaper you lose the keyboard (and modulation and pitch wheel). Unless you're are going for pure manipulation of the audio in, which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, most likely you will want to play it with a keyboard. Using a MIDI keyboard with pitch bend and modulation wheel features already makes up for most of what's lost from the Little Phatty, but for 2/3 of the price.
